$1.47 Million Available for Minnesota Farm to Kids Programs

Minnesota schools and childcare providers can apply for funding to serve more locally produced food.

The Minnesota Department of Agriculture says approximately $1.47 million is available through its fiscal year 2027 Farm to Kids programs.

The funding reimburses eligible purchases of food grown or raised in Minnesota. Some applicants may also request money for kitchen equipment used to prepare local foods.

Eligible applicants include school districts, early childhood education centers and licensed family childcare providers participating in qualifying federal meal programs.

The department says more than 600 schools, districts and childcare providers have previously received funding. Application information is available on the Farm to Kids program website
