2023 No-Knock Search Warrant Report Released
The state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension has released the 2023 No-Knock Search Warrant Report.
According to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, of the 89 warrants requested in 2023, 84 were issued and 71 were executed. The evidence sought was located 69 times. Of the 89 requested warrants, 5 warrants were denied.
Data shows a decrease from 2022, where of the 185 warrants requested, 179 were issued and 158 were executed. Evidence sought was located in 148 cases.
No word on how many resulted in a conviction.
Some no-knock warrants are for activities that do not require entering a residence such as searching the property or attaching a tracking device to a vehicle.
