2026 Election Security

 Minnesota election officials say they’re adapting to a very different security environment ahead of the November election. Secretary Steve Simon says federal agencies have scaled back the intelligence sharing and cybersecurity support they once provided to states. As a result, Minnesota is relying more on independent cybersecurity experts and conducting its own security exercises to prepare for potential threats. Simon says it’s a significant change from previous election cycles, when federal agencies worked much more closely with state election officials.
