22-Year-Old Dies After Winona Water Emergency

A 22-year-old man is dead following a water emergency at Airport Lake in Winona.

The Winona County Sheriff’s Office says dispatchers received a 9-1-1 call just before 8 P-M Thursday reporting a man missing in the water.

Multiple emergency agencies responded and searched for approximately 40 minutes before locating him. First responders attempted life-saving measures, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
