Stearns County Building Fire

A barn was damaged by fire in Stearns County Monday night.

At just before 11pm, the sheriff’s office received a call of a barn on fire at 31862 Co Rd 18, in North Fork Township.

The caller said they could see flames inside the barn, which had cows inside.

The homeowner, 58-year-old Brian Kollman, entered the barn and found wet hay bales had caught fire. Kollman fought the fire with a garden hose until the Brooten Fire Department could arrive on scene and finish extinguishing the flames.

Authorities say the building only sustained minor damage, and no people or animals were harmed.
