MANKATO MAN SERIOUSLY HURT IN SIBLEY COUNTY CRASH

The Sibley County Sheriff’s Office was called to a one-vehicle crash on County Road 10 about three miles north of Winthrop in Transit Township Wednesday afternoon at 4:25 pm.  Deputies say a Chevrolet Silverado pickup driven by 36-year-old Jeffrey Albrecht, Jr. of Mankato was traveling east on  County Road 10, left the roadway, entered the ditch and collided with a driveway embankment.  Albrecht suffered what are described as severe injuries and was taken by ground ambulance to a local hospital and then was flown by helicopter to a Twin Cities area hospital.  The pickup sustained heavy damage.  Winthrop ambulance and fire along with Gaylord ambulance and the state patrol all assisted at the scene.
