Mary Jean Mager Regenscheid

Mary Jean Mager Regenscheid passed away on September 13, 2024, at Cherrywood Advanced Living in St. Cloud, MN at the age of 84.  A funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM, Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery, MN. Visitation will be held at the church prior to the service from 9:30-11:30 AM.   Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Montgomery, MN.  A luncheon will be provided following the service at American Legion Post #79.  Schoenbauer Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Most Holy Redeemer Catholic School and Church, Montgomery, MN.
Mary Jean Mager Regenscheid was born on August 29, 1940, in Henderson, MN.  A
daughter of Benedict and Florence (Kahle) Mager.  She was baptized, received First Communion and was Confirmed at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Henderson, MN.  Mary grew up on the family farm in rural Henderson and was graduated from Henderson High School in May of 1958.  She graduated from Mankato State College in 1961 earning her four-year bachelor’s degree in education in three years.
Mary married Andrew Regenscheid at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in LeSueur on August
26, 1961.  Mary taught Grade 5 students at Guardian Angels Catholic School in Chaska, MN.  She thoroughly enjoyed working with the young minds and helping youth develop their personalities.  The family moved from Chaska in the summer of 1966 and took up life in Montgomery, MN.  Mary taught at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic School teaching all grades but first.  She served as school Principal at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic School for 5 ½ years before retiring in June, 1998.  She served as a substitute teacher in both Elementary and Secondary schools in Montgomery Public Schools, Most Holy Redeemer School, St. Wenceslaus Catholic School in New Prague and at Lonsdale-Veseli- New Market Catholic School in Lonsdale for ten years.
Mary was active in many community, civic, and church organizations and activities.  She
was a Charter Member of Montgomery Mrs. Jaycees, and the Montgomery Area Arts and
Heritage Center.  Mary was an active member and held active leadership roles in C.C.W. and K of C Auxiliary church organizations for almost a half a century.  She was an extremely active member of the Montgomery Arts and Heritage Center, taught CCD Religion classes for High School students for several years and was active in the Holy Redeemer Church 5:00 choir and the Funeral Mass Choir.  Mary was active in the American Legion Post #79 Auxiliary, serving several youth-oriented projects over the years.
Mary is survived by daughters, Andrea (David) Coulter, Paula (Chris) Foley, Rae Ann
(Rich Weinzirl), Son-in-law Rob Allickson.  Seven grandchildren:  Alex (Paige) Coulter, Sam Coulter, Megan Foley (Faith Bila), Erin (Jordan) Feddema, Andy (Samantha) Foley, Carlee (Joey) Williams, Isaiah Allickson.  Five great-grandchildren:  Rhett Coulter, Brynn Coulter, Blaise Feddema, Rory Foley and Joseph Williams.  Sisters: Elaine Habeck, and Karen (Richard) Rocklewitz, sister-in-laws Audrey Stifter and Pat Regenscheid, Betty Schmieg as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Mary was proceeded in death by her husband, Andrew, daughter Christine Regenscheid
Allickson, her parents Benedict and Florence Mager, parents-in-law Joseph F. and Esther L. Regenscheid, brother and sister-in-law Eugene and Barb Mager, brothers-in-law, Joseph Regnescheid and Bernard Regenscheid.
