MnDOT Urges Drivers to Share Roads with Farm Equipment
(Learfield News/St. Paul, MN) — The Minnesota Department of Transportation is urging safety on the roads as the fall harvest season approaches.
MnDOT Assistant District Engineer Scott Morgan says farm equipment operators should allow the other folks on the road some more time and more space for the automobile drivers.
He reminds drivers to slow down and use caution when approaching farm equipment and be patient and wait for a safe place to pass.
State data show there were 446 crashes involving farm equipment in Minnesota from 2021 through 2023, resulting in eight deaths and 171 injuries.
