Twins Even Series With Cleveland

The Minnesota Twins evened their series against the Cleveland Guardians with a 4-1 win at Progressive Field last night in Ohio. Matt Wallner broke a 1-1 tie with an R-B-I single in the top of the fifth, and Willi Castro extended Minnesota’s lead with a two-run homer in the eighth. Cole Sands earned his ninth win in relief, while Griffin Jax picked up his ninth save. The Twins remain a game-and-a-half ahead of Detroit for the final A-L Wild Card spot at 80-71. The Guardians still have a five-game lead over Kansas City in the AL Central race. Game three of the four-game set is tonight at 5:40 P-M. Coverage begins at 5pm on KNUJ and SAm 107.3.
