Police investigate a potential threat to local schools via Snapchat

According to a press release from the City of New Prague:

In the early morning hours of 9/18/24, New Prague Police were notified by the Chaska Police Department a juvenile posted a photo on Snapchat containing text about threatening to “shoot up” several high schools including Buffalo, New Prague, Edina, and McFarland, Wisconsin. The BCA investigated the threat and worked with Chaska PD to bring the suspect responsible into custody. There is no evidence to support that they would have been able to carry out the threats or that anyone else was involved. Because the suspect is a juvenile, no identifying information will be released.
