Charlie Hunnam To Play Butcher of Plainfield In “Monster” Season 3

The Netflix true crime “Monster” anthology will feature Charlie Hunnam (known for his role in Sons of Anarchy) as Wisconsin serial killer Ed Gein in the 3rd installment of the series.  Ryan Murphy, one of the creators, announced that production will begin next month.

Each season of the series showcases a different true crime case.   The latest involves the infamous Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story and will be released September 19th.  The Menendez brothers were convicted of killing their parents in 1989 and their case became a media sensation in the 1990s when it went to trial. The first season debuted in 2022 focusing on serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer.

That first series still ranks as the third-most-watched English-language Netflix original of all time.
