NEW ULM CITY COUNCIL SETS PRELIMINARY BUDGET, LEVY
A preliminary budget of $28.2-million and a tax levy of $10.7-million were approved by the New Ulm City Council Tuesday. The proposed levy represents a 7.68% increase over last year but current projections show it could go down to 4.90%. The maximum tax levy increase is on the lower end in comparison to other area towns with Mankato on the low end at a 4% increase. The proposed levy can’t go any higher but it can be lowered. Public hearings for the final budget and levy will be December 3 at 6 pm.
