Twins swept in Doubleheader, now 1 game out of the Playoffs

(Boston, MA) — The struggles continued on Sunday for the Twins as they were swept by the Red Sox in both games of a split doubleheader in Boston. After falling 8-1 in the first game they followed it up with a 9-3 loss in game two. Romy Gonzalez hit a three run homer and drove in four runs for the Sox as they handed the Twins their 13th loss in the last 19 games. That puts the Twins at 81-75 on the season and are now a game behind both the Tigers and Royals for the final two wild card spots. With just six games left in the regular season, the Twins will take today off before heading home for the final stretch with three games each against both the Marlins and Orioles.
