Willmar Man Injured in Stearns Co Construction Accident

A Willmar man was injured after his legs were pinned under a large steel beam Friday morning during a construction project at a church in Stearns County.

The Sheriff’s Office says 32-year-old Jesus Garza was taken to St. Cloud Hospital for treatment.

Garza was part of a contracted company doing work on the Waters Church near Sartell that included removing the beam from the building. Garza was operating a sky jack scissor lift near the beam as the beam was being lowered when the beam became unstable and fell onto his legs, pinning him on top of the scissor lift.
