Sporting Event Live-stream Scams

As schools across the area continue into the high school sports season, the McLeod County Sheriff’s Office is alerting residents that scammers continue to put spam links on posts related to sporting events.

The Sheriff’s Office says comments on posts are informing people to click the link to watch the live stream for free.

Authorities say unless the link is directly from the school, avoid clicking it and report it as spam.
