James Edward “Jimmer” Reiter

James Edward “Jimmer” Reiter, age 82, of Montgomery, died on Saturday, September 21, 2024, in Montgomery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 25 from 4-7pm at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 26 at 11am with visitation one hour prior at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery with Father Timothy Sandquist officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the Montgomery area American Legion Honor Guard. Interment will be held at a later date at Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery.

Jimmer was born on June 5, 1942 in Minneapolis to Donald and Elizabeth (Brecount) Reiter. He was a graduate of De-La-Salle High School in Minneapolis. He served in the United States Army. He was united in marriage to Julie Tritz in 2007. He very much enjoyed his work as a groundskeeper at Montgomery National Golf Course, the City of Montgomery and in his younger years coaching softball and was a past commander of the Golden Valley Legion.

Jimmer is survived by his wife, Julie of Montgomery; children, Lisa (Joseph) LeBrun of Lonsdale, and James (Lisa) Reiter of Le Sueur; grandchildren, Ashley LeBrun, Kaitlynn (Tyler) Halverson, Joshua LeBrun, Isaac LeBrun, Lindsay Reiter, and Calvin Reiter; siblings, Donny (Lorri) Reiter of Michigan, North Dakota, and Candy Swayze of Vernonia, Oregon, Sister-in-law, Carol Simon of Montgomery; and brother and sister-in-law, Milton (Jean) Trnka.

Jimmer is preceded in death by his parents, Don and Betty Reiter; siblings, Jeanne Anderson, Carol Neyers, and Bobby Reiter.
