Twins fire Hitting Coach
(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Twins are in the market for a new hitting coach. The team fired Dave Popkins yesterday. Popkins spent the last three seasons with the Twins. He oversaw two seasons of above-average offensive output, but Minnesota hitters collapsed during the final month of the 2024 seasons causing the team to miss the playoffs and finish 82-80 on the year. The team also parted ways with assistant hitting coach Derek Shoman. Minnesota will begin its search for a new hitting coach immediately.
