RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for 18 counties in south central, southwest and west central Minnesota through 7 this evening.  Among the counties included are Brown, Blue Earth, Cottonwood, Martin, Watonwan, Murray, Redwood and Jackson.  A Red Flag Warning means fires can spread quickly and easily progress out of control under the predicted weather conditions which are gusty winds and low relative humidities.  Do not burn in counties where a Red Flag Warning is in effect.  The DNR will not issue or activate open burning permits for large vegetative debris burning during a Red Flag Warning.  Campfires are discouraged.  Get updates at weather.gov.
