TRF Man Cited For Failing To Yield To Juvenile On A Bike

A Thief River Falls man was cited following an accident over the weekend involving a juvenile on a bike. 

Police say James Mattison was cited for Failure to Yield Right of Way to Oncoming Traffic. According to the officers report, a “2018 Red Kia had (the) green light as he entered the intersection turning left from the 1500 block of 1st Street onto Highway 59”. Authorities say that’s when the vehicle struck the eastbound juvenile in the crosswalk. 

Officers responded just before 5pm on October 11th.
