College Football helmets have a problem
(Undated) — A major change in college football may not be as foolproof as initially thought. E-S-P-N reports that coach-to-player communication in helmets has been on unencrypted frequencies. This means the communications can be accessed by someone with a scanner who knows how to find frequencies. The Big 12 has told its 10 teams playing this weekend to send the devices back to G-S-C, the company that provides the Power 4 schools with the devices. They will be updated with encryption and sent back to the teams in time for their games on Saturday. Texas Tech has asked for a report from the Big 12 on its games against T-C-U and Baylor to make sure there was no issue with the integrity of the matchups. The conference is agreeing to complete the report.
