MN PUC TO HOLD HEARINGS ON SOUTHWEST MINNESOTA POWER LINE PROJECT
The state Public Utilities Commission is holding hearings this week about a proposed 170-mile high-voltage power line across southwest Minnesota.
Xcel Energy wants to build the power line to connect a substation in Lyon County to the utility’s Sherco substation in Becker.
Xcel says the line will help the utility connect up to four-thousand megawatts of electricity to the Minnesota power grid.
Today (Wednesday) public hearings are being held in Olivia and Granite Falls and Thursday in Marshall and Redwood Falls.
