Vikings send 2 to the IL

(Eagan, MN)) — The Vikings were active on Tuesday leading up to the N-F-L Trade Deadline. With the news that both kicker Will Reichard and long snapper Andrew DePaola were heading to injured reserve, the Vikings countered with a couple of transactions. To help fill the void, the Vikings have signed kicker John Parker Romo and long snapper Jake McQuaide. Reichard is dealing with a right quadriceps injury while DePaola is having surgery to repair a right hand injury. Both will be forced to miss at least the next four games. Romo spent time with the Vikings during training camp but has never kicked in a regular season game. He spent 2023 in the X-F-L with San Antonio and went 17-of-19 in field goals over the course of 10 games. McQuaide his in season number 14 in the N-F-L and played for the Rams in 2020 when Kevin O’Connell was the offensive coordinator. Both could be important this Sunday when the Vikings face the Jaguars at noon from EverBank Stadium.
