Kenneth (Kenny) Bartyzal

Kenneth (Kenny) Bartyzal of New Prague, MN passed away on November 3, 2024 in Mankato, MN at the age of 90. Born March 15, 1934 in New Prague, Kenneth was the son of Frank and Regina (Zaun) Bartyzal. Kenneth attended New Prague public schools and entered the U.S. Army at age 17 in January 1952 during the Korean War. He spent most of his service time in Germany. Kenny married Shirley Denzer in February 1953 and together they raised five children.

Kenny worked most of his life in the metal stamping business and was a foreman at Stampings of Minnesota in Lakeville, Heavy Duty Air in Jordan and Baldwin Filters in Gothenburg, Nebraska. After retiring, Kenny moved to Garrison, MN where he lived for 10 years before returning to New Prague. Kenny was a member of the VFW in Garrison. He enjoyed his family, birdwatching, playing euchre and socializing with his many friends. He was an avid New York Yankees and Minnesota Vikings fan. He also enjoyed NASCAR and fishing. Kenny’s quick wit, never-ending sense of humor, and love of his country will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his children Gail Bartyzal, Apple Valley, Dean (Natalie) Bartyzal, Lakeville, Mary (Mike) Sannan, Farmington, Melissa Triggs, Lonsdale; 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren, brother Clifford Bartyzal of Medford, OR, Beverly Fedie of Nisula, MI, and Helen Tikalsky of New Prague, MN along with many special nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, mother of his children Shirley, son Rob Bartyzal, brothers Richard, Clayton, Dale, Russell, sisters Geraldine Armstrong and Mary Lou Seurer, and special friend Ruth Thompson.

There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, November 16, from noon to 3 p.m. at the Park Ballroom, 300 Lexington Ave. S., New Prague. Military honors will be provided by the New Prague Area Veterans Honor Guard. Interment will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family or to any veteran’s organization are preferred.

The family would like to sincerely thank Mala Strana Assisted Living of New Prague. Kenny truly enjoyed living there and appreciated the wonderful staff and the friendships he made there.
