ATTEMPTED ARSON AT MANKATO MOSQUE

Authorities are searching for a suspect who attempted to start a fire near a mosque in Mankato.  Abdi Sabrie, a board member of the Islamic Center of Mankato, reported that a man held a lighter to leaves and brush near the building Sunday while children were studying inside.  The suspect fled the scene on a fat-tired bicycle.   Surveillance footage captured the man wearing a red and black jacket.  Fortunately, the arson attempts was unsuccessful and resulted in no injuries or significant damage.
