State FB Semi’s/College FB Schedule/Results

MIAC Championship Saturday saw some interesting games. St John’s will be the conference champion and also claimed the automatic bid to the NCAA Tourney, with a 41 to 33 win over Bethel. Third place goes to Concordia, Cobbers QB Cooper Mattern finds Owen Miller in the end zone for a 25 yard touchdown pass, with 1:54 to play to give Concordia a 17 to 13 win over Gustavus. The Gusties finish the season 5 and 5, the Cobbers 7 and 3. Fifth place goes to St Olaf, a 41 to 26 winner over Augsburg. Seventh place winner is Carelton, the Knights beat Hamline 21 to 9. Finishing in ninth place will be St Scholastica, the Saints hold on to defeat Macalester 44 to 41.

Minnesota State High School football semi-finals results.

Class A- Springfield comes from behind, scoring 30 unanswered points to defeat Mahnomen/Waubun 30 to 16 and Minneota throttles Parkers Prairie 45 to 0, to set up the Class A Final, next Friday at 10am. Minneota and Springfield will meet for the third straight year.

Class AAA games include Dassel/Cokato is taking on Pequot Lakes, followed by Albany and Stewartville at 4pm.

Class AAAAA will wrap up the day at 7pm. Alexandria takes on Owatonna.
