Richard Merrill Coyle

Richard Coyle, age 87 of Morris, Minnesota, formerly of New Ulm, MN, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at the Courage Cottage in Morris, MN.

Visitation for Richard Coyle will be held Monday, November 25, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris, MN.

Memorial services for Richard Coyle will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 25, 2024, at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris, MN, with Reverend Bryan Taffe officiating.

Burial will be held at a later date at Lamberton Cemetery in Lamberton MN.

Richard was born on January 29, 1937 in Hadley Village to Richard and Edna (Anderson) Coyle. He grew up in in Lamberton and graduated from Lamberton High School, where he lettered in football, basketball, and baseball. He also played and coached softball for many years. Richard was united in marriage to Joan Bittner on February 8, 1958 in Wanda. They moved to St. Paul for a few years and he worked as a route driver for 7UP, then moved to Worthington in 1967 and worked for Frito-Lay for many years. Richard and Joan moved to New Ulm in 1978 where they owned and operated New Ulm Sewing and also worked as a charter and school bus driver. After retirement, they moved to Alexandria and recently lived in Morris. Richard enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Twins, Timberwolves, and the Lynx. He was a happy man who had a great sense of humor and a contagious laugh. Richard was proud of his Irish heritage and loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his children: Scott (Alyce) Coyle of Eau Claire, WI, Jennifer (Chris) Lund of Cyrus, MN, and Gretchen (Will) Campbell of Waconia, MN; nine grandchildren: Aaron (Kari Sorge) Lund, Justin (Maddie) Lund, Nathan (Jodee) Lund, Angie (Ben Tweedt) Coyle, Michael Coyle, Rebecca (Bryan) Rhode, Evan (Ellie) Campbell, Madeline (Anthony) Vettel, and Amelia Campbell; nine great-grandchildren: Elliot, Kinley, Chloe, Beckett, Callie, Nolan, Arlo, Della, and Aidy.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his infant son: Michael Coyle; his parents.
