Kirill Kaprizov scores twice to lift the Wild over the Blues 4-2
ST. LOUIS, MO – Kirill Kaprizov netted two goals in the third period, including an empty-netter, to lead the Minnesota Wild to a 4-2 victory over the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday night. Jonas Brodin and Ryan Hartman also contributed goals, while Filip Gustavsson turned aside 22 shots to secure the win for Minnesota, which improved to 12-3-3 on the season.
St. Louis saw goals from Scott Perunovich and Jake Neighbours, with Jordan Binnington making 24 saves. The Blues welcomed back Robert Thomas, who returned after missing 12 games due to a fractured right ankle.
Brodin scored his second goal of the season at 6:16 of the third period, putting the Wild ahead 3-2. Kaprizov then sealed the win with an empty-net goal, his 13th of the season, at 1:23. Neighbours had earlier tied the game at 2-all with his team-leading sixth goal of the season on a power play at 9:23 of the third.
Kaprizov had given Minnesota a 2-1 lead earlier in the period, deflecting a shot from Jake Middleton past Binnington at 6:07.
Next, the Wild will visit Edmonton, while the Blues host San Jose on Thursday night.
