Gopher Womens Soccer bows out in Sweet 16

(Chapel Hill, NC) — The University of Minnesota women’s soccer team ended its season with a 3-0 loss at North Carolina in the N-C-A-A Sweet 16 yesterday. The Golden Gophers had an historic season, reaching the Sweet 16 for the first time in 14 years. The season concludes with a 14-5-and-3 record. The Gophers got off only seven shots against a stingy Tar Heels’ defense U-N-C improved to 19-5 on the season and advances to the Elite Eight.
