Minnesota’s Official Turkey Presented
(Learfield News/St. Paul, MN) — Minnesota’s official turkey, Tom, was presented at a ceremony with Governor Tim Walz two days before Thanksgiving.
During the event Tuesday, the governor announced that Minnesota remains the leading turkey-producing state in the country, with 600 farms and a production of 40 million turkeys.
Unlike his Minnesota turkey counterparts, Peaches and Blossom, who visited the White House on Monday, Tom will not be pardoned.
Governor Walz emphasized that in Minnesota, Thanksgiving is celebrated with turkey.
