Michael Donald Anthony David
Michael Donald Anthony David, affectionately known as “Mickii”, age 73, of Le Center, passed away on Wednesday, November 27th, 2024, at the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 1st, from 4pm-8pm at the Le Center Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will be held the following day, Monday, December 2nd, at 10:30am, with visitation beginning one hour prior at the American Legion in Le Center. Deacon Dan Wesley will be officiating, and interment will be held at the Calvary Cemetery in rural Waterville following the service. Military Honors will be provided by the Le Center area Veterans Honor Guard.
Mike was born on April 21st, 1951 in Mankato to Frank and Helen (Sticha) David. After attending primary school at Holy Redeemer in Montgomery, he was a 1969 graduate of Le Center High School. Mike attended vocational tech school studying electronics. He served in the U.S. Army from 1971 to 1973 and was stationed in Germany. Mike was united in marriage to Jean Ernste on April 3rd, 1976, at St. Lawrence Church in Faribault. He enjoyed writing and playing music, riding motorcycles, and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and dog, Frank. He loved working on projects and believed nothing was unfixable. Mike was known for his infamous Dad jokes.
Mike is survived by his significant other of many years, Connie Brady of Janesville, as well as his children and grandchildren: Jessica (Matt) Shouler of Le Center- Sophie, Olivia and Jackson; Jolene (Pat) Gehrke of Milford, IA- Gwendolyn, Isabelle, Aidan, and Spencer; Amanda (Jimmy) Whiteis of Le Center- Sydney and Devin; Mikenzi (Griffin) Hebel of Liberty, TN- Dakotah, Truitt, and Beckette; Nick (Melissa) David of Minnetrista- Atlas, Beatrice, and Otto. Mike was also blessed with “bonus” children and grandchildren including Kristen (Travis) Gunsolus- Collin and Lucas; Marissa (Mike) Ewert- Sylvie; Brandon (Renee) Brady- Dalton and Evelyn; and Brent Brady.
Mike is welcomed into heaven by his late wife, Jean (Ernste) David (January 29th, 2001); son, Mikey David (October 22nd, 2000); parents Frank and Helen David; and siblings, Terry David Sr., Donald David, Curt David, Susie David, and Mary Cockerham.
