The Renville County Historical Society presents “The Battle that Saved New Ulm” Presentation and Tour of the Jerry Weldy on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2024 at 6 PM. We will meet at the Battlefield site just north of Morton Junction County Rd 2 / County Road 18. Bring a lawn chair or blanket for the presentation. Limited seating on the picnic tables in the shelter. After the Q&A session Jerry will give a walking tour around the Battlefield. Refreshments served at the site. Free Will Donation & Item for the Renville County Food Shelf.

Grace Lutheran Church in Brownton is holding their Fall Festival on Sunday, September 8th from 10:30a-12:30p. Serving a Pork Chop or Hot Dog Meal, Adults: $14, Extra Chop: $6, Children 12 and under: $8, Hot Dog Meal: $4. St John’s Lutheran Church of Winthrop has their Steeple Fest on Sunday, September 8th. 9:30 am Worship, 11a-1p Windsor Pork Chop Dinner. Cost is $14 for dinner…indoor seating or drive thru available. Also featuring a garden and Bake Sale.

The annual Friends of the Hutchinson Library will be having their annual Book Sale on Friday, sept. 13th and Saturday, Sept. 14th. Hours Friday 10a-6p, Saturday 9a-4p.

The annual Hector Flight Breakfast is Sunday, Sept. 15th. All you can eat for a free will donation! Fly in or Drive in, serving 7:30a-12:30p. Ping Pong Ball Drop at 11:30 am. This year’s featured aircraft is motorized glider, the Brditschka (only 2 in the USA)…plus see other planes and aircraft up close. The event is a benefit for Hector Fire, Police, and Ambulance crews.

St Pauls Lutheran Church of Green Isle is holding their 100th anniversary celebration on Sunday, Sept. 22nd. Divine Service starts at 10:30 am, Luncheon from Noon-1 pm. Serving a Chicken or Roast Beef Dinner, Cost is $18 for adults, $5 for those ages 5-15. Guest preacher is the Rev. Dr. Lucas Woodford, President of Minnesota South District of LCMS. Other guests include the Rev. Mick and Glorian Sprengeler, Rev. David Becker, and Rev. Brian Rohde. Commemorative Booklets will be available. The Kimball Lions Club is hosting their Fall Fish Fry on Friday, October 4th from 4:30-7pm at the Willow Creek Lions Shelter. Cost is $15 for adults and $8 for kids 12 and under.
