Morgan Wallen Waives Thursday’s Hearing For Throwing Chair, Goes Straight To Grand Jury

Morgan Wallen will not appear in a Nashville court on Thursday, as previously scheduled.  Instead, Wallen and his lawyers are waiving his preliminary hearing in the Nashville chair-throwing case from April of this year.   What will happen now is that a jury will look at all the evidence and decide whether there is probable cause to proceed to trial.  Morgan is charged with three felony counts of reckless endangerment, along with one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct.

The Grand Jury of Davidson County is expected to meet in January.  Some legal experts say waiving the preliminary hearing could be a strategic decision to give Morgan’s lawyers more time to work out a settlement with prosecutors.
