Gophers lose Woodson for season

(Minneapolis, MN) — Tough news for the Golden Gopher women’s basketball team, as they have lost sophomore forward Taylor Woodson to a season-ending knee injury. She suffered the injury early in Wednesday’s 81-43 win over Jackson State. Woodson had played in all 12 games for Minnesota, averaging eight points and four rebounds per contest. She was in her first season with the Gophers after transferring to Minnesota after spending her freshman season at Michigan. Woodson is from Minnetonka and played high school basketball for Hopkins, where she was part of state championship teams. The next Gopher women’s basketball game is a week from tonight when Minnesota entertains Prairie View A&M at Williams Arena.
