CEO Killing/Terrorism Charges
(ABC News/Manhatten, NY) Criminal charges have been filed in New York against Luigi Mangione, the man accused of killing UnitedHelathcare CEO Brian Thompson.
Mangione was arrested at a McDonald’s in Pennsylvania earlier this month, ending a five-day manhunt.
He allegedly waited nearly one hour outside a hotel in New York where UnitedHealth was holding its investor conference. He is now charged with “first degree murder as an act of terrorism.”
Prosecutors say the charge reflects a belief that Mangione killed Thompson to “evoke terror.”
