Understanding Minnesota Hands-Free Law

New Ulm Police Commander Dean Barstad explained the Hands-Free Law for drivers in Minnesota.  You may not hold your phone in your hand unless obtaining emergency assistance or there is an immediate threat to life and safety or while in an emergency vehicle and performing official duties.  So far in 2024, New Ulm Police has issued 350 citations for cell phone violations.
