Virgil Rudolph Wehking was born on January 5, 1946, to Ernest and Lillian (Buehler) Wehking in Hutchinson, Minnesota. He was raised on a farm near Hector, Minnesota, the youngest of 3 boys. Virgil attended school in Hector and joined the US Navy in 1963. While he was home on leave, he met Susie Feuchtenberger. After he finished his service in the Navy, Virgil and Susie were married in May of 1968 in Morris, Minnesota. During the first year of their marriage, they lived in Hutchinson where Virgil worked at 3M. They moved to Morris in November of 1969 and, with the help of his father-in-law, began farming. They were grateful for the opportunity to raise all 5 of their children on the farm. Thankful for the neighborhood he lived in, Virgil often reminisced about the days when people would take the time to stop at the end of the field and visit, even in the busiest of seasons. He truly appreciated life on the farm and it was a real joy for him to be able to see the next generations enjoy this same way of life.

Hunting and fishing were lifelong interests of Virgil, which he shared frequently with family and friends. Retirement allowed both Virgil and Susie to spend more time together at their cabin and create countless memories with many people, especially with their grandchildren.

Most importantly, Virgil treasured the completed work of the cross of Jesus Christ and was amazed at the life changing impact it could provide for a sinner saved by grace.
