Area DNR Officers Report Successful Trapping Season
Officials with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources last week worked the end of fur trapping season.
Conservation Officer Ben Huener in Roseau says violations for last week included fail to validate pine marten coupons as prescribed, possess over limit of walleyes/saugers, no ice shelter license.
Conservation Officer Sarah Jahn in Thief River Falls reports “fur registration was also attended, many people were successful for pine martin”. She reminds people to use caution on the ice as the weather continues to fluctuate.
Meanwhile, Conservation Officer Nick Bruesewitz in Karlstad says that “a Great Horned owl was rescued and brought to the Raptor Center for rehabilitation”.
