Gopher Mens BB falls to Purdue
(Minneapolis, MN) — Dawson Garcia led Minnesota with 20 points, and Lu’Cye Patterson added 14 points and a team-high eight rebounds, but No. 20 Purdue made nine second-half three-pointers to break open a one-point halftime lead and post an 81-61 win at Williams Arena. Garcia made 8-of-15 field goals, including a couple three-pointers, while adding five rebounds for the Gophers. It was his eighth game with 20 or more points this season, including his second in Big Ten play for Minnesota (8-6, 0-3 Big Ten). Patterson’s 14-point effort was his seventh double-figure output in his last nine games, and his eight rebounds were a season-high. As a team, Minnesota made 25-of-52 (.481) field goals, but the Gophers struggled by going 4-of-17 (.235) from three-point range and just 7-of-16 (.438) at the free throw line. The Gophers host Ohio State on Monday at 8 P-M.
