CHARGES FILED IN WINDOM STABBING
A San Diego man has been charged with second-degree murder in Cottonwood County after a fatal stabbing at the Phat Pheasant Pub New Year’s Eve night. The man’s name has not been released but his license has him listed as No Name Given Happy. He has been charged with second-degree murder with intent, not premeditated, second-degree murder without intent while committing a felony, second degree assault and threats of violence. Police say the man stabbed 30-year-old Benjamin Matter of Windom who died at Windom Hospital. Two others were also stabbed – another 30-year-old male and a 31-year-old male – both from Windom. The Windom Police Department and Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension continue to investigate.
