Vikings elevate Jones, B-Flo to interview for Head Coaching Jobs
(Eagan, MN) — The Minnesota Vikings might have a new back-up quarterback for the N-F-C Wild Card round. The team elevated quarterback Daniel Jones from the practice squad to the active roster yesterday. Minnesota signed Jones to its practice squad after he was cut by the Giants in November. The move allows the Purple to collect draft pick compensation if Jones signs with another team in the offseason. Jones passed for 2,070 yards, eight touchdowns, and seven interceptions during the regular season. Quarterback Brett Rypien was waived in a corresponding move.
(Eagan, MN) — Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores says he looks forward to pursuing another N-F-L head coach job this off-season. Brian Flores told reporters yesterday that he will take all interview requests from teams with head coaching vacancies. E-S-P-N reports the Bears and Jets have already reached out to Flores for an interview. The 43-year-old Flores says he is also interested in the Patriots’ open position, which is where he spent the first 15 years of his career. Flores was the head coach of the Miami Dolphins, but was fired in 2022 and sued the league along with several teams for discrimination during the interview process. He became a defensive assistant with the Steelers before heading to Minnesota to become the team’s coordinator in 2023. Flores and the Vikings play at the Los Angeles Rams on Monday night in an N-F-C Wild Card playoff game.
