Granite Falls Man Shot by Police Sentenced to 7 Years

MONTEVIDEO — A Granite Falls, Minnesota, man shot by law enforcement during an attempted arrest after a traffic stop outside the city in 2023 has been sentenced to serve seven years in prison for second-degree drug possession.

The West Central Tribune reports 24-year-old Dylan McKaide Anderson-Butler, formerly of St. Paul, pleaded guilty to the felony charge in October in Chippewa County District Court.

In exchange, charges of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and ineligible possession of a firearm were dismissed. An unrelated case charging him with aiding an offender to avoid arrest was also dismissed.
