Maryland comes from behind to beat Gophers

(College Park, MD) — Dawson Garcia scored 21 points but the Terrapins rode a second half surge to beat the Gophers 77-71 on the road. Isaac Asuma and Lu’Cye Patterson each had 15 points but it was Maryland that rallied from a three point halftime deficit. Garcia made 6-of-13 field goals, including 2-of-3 three-pointers, and was 7-of-9 at the free throw line to reach 20 or more points for the 10th time this season, and his fourth time in Big Ten play. He added seven rebounds, three assists, two steals, and a blocked shot in 33 minutes. Patterson was 9-of-10 at the line and had five rebounds and three assists, while Asuma reached double figures for the fourth time this season and the second time in the past three games. The Gophers are now 8-9 overall and are still winless in the Big Ten at 0-6. They’ve lost four straight and are next on the floor on Thursday night when they host Michigan at 6 P-M.
