Dassel man charged with Arson and Burglary

A complaint has been filed with the District Court in Meeker County charging a Dassel man with arson and burglary. Forty-six-year-old Barry Klingelhoets has been charged with 3rd Degree Burglary and 1st Degree Arson for incidents that occurred last summer in the 72900 block of 240th St in Dassel Township. A burglary was first reported in August at that residence and then in September the homeowner woke up in the middle of the night to find his truck on fire. The fire spread to the garage and caused significant damage to the residence. An investigation that included evidence testing, along with surveillance video, led to the charges. Klingelhoets is currently in the Meeker County jail on an unrelated 3rd Degree Burglary charge. Klingelhoets has a first appearance scheduled for May 3rd, 2024 on the new charges.
