POLICE INVESTIGATING ASSAULT AT BROWN COUNTY EVALUATION CENTER

New Ulm Police are investigating an assault that was reported at the Brown County Evaluation Center Detox Division Monday morning around 2:03 am.  Police say a 34-year-old Albert Lea woman allegedly kicked and punched detox staff before she was placed in an isolation cell.  She was cited for fifth-degree assault and obstruction of the legal process.  Police transported her to the Brown County jail but on the way, she allegedly kicked the squad cage causing almost $480 damage to the vehicle.  A report for fourth-degree criminal damage to property was sent to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office for consideration.
