TEEN DETAINED AFTER HIGH-SPEED CHASE

A 16-year-old girl is in juvenile detention after leading law enforcement on a high-speed chase over the weekend after an alleged fight with her mom.  Waseca County deputies say the incident started Saturday evening when they tried to stop a Audi Q5 on Highway 14 near Janesville.  Blue Earth County deputies eventually joined in as the chase continued westbound with speeds measured at over 100 miles per hour.  Deputies deployed stop sticks as she got closer to Mankato but she managed to get around them.  She eventually lost control on Blue Earth County Road 12 and crashed into a street sign and some small trees.  Authorities say she then tried to flee on foot but was quickly taken into custody.  No one was hurt in the incident.  The teen told deputies that she took off after her mother threatened to report the Audi as stolen.
