Wild trade with Boston, A Minnesota native goes to Colorado

(St. Paul, MN) — The Minnesota Wild are making some moves ahead of the N-H-L trade deadline. The team acquired forward Justin Brazeau in a trade with the Boston Bruins yesterday. The Wild sent centers Jakub Lauko and Marat Khusnutdinov to the Bruins to complete the deal. Brazeau has ten goals and ten assists in 57 games this season.

(Undated) — The Colorado Avalanche are gearing up for another Cup run after making a blockbuster move. Colorado has acquired forward Brock Nelson from the New York Islanders. The Avs are receiving Nelson and forward William Dufour in exchange for defenseman Oliver Kylington, forward Calum Ritchie, a first round pick in 2026 or 2027 and a conditional third round pick in 2028. In a separate move the Isles sent Kylington to the Anaheim Ducks for future considerations. Nelson, a Warroad native, spent the first 12 years of his N-H-L career with the Islanders after being selected with the 30th overall pick in the 2010 draft. He has 20 goals and 23 assists in 61 games this season.
