Vikings re-sign Jones

(Eagan, MN) — Set to be an unrestricted free agent at the start, Aaron Jones has agreed to terms with the Minnesota Vikings, returning for a second season with the team. Originally drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the fifth round of the 2017 N-F-L Draft out of Texas-El Paso, Jones spent seven seasons with the Packers before signing with the Vikings in March of 2024. In his first season in Minnesota, Jones set career highs in rushing attempts (255) and rushing yards (1,138), becoming just the third player in franchise history to reach 1,000 rushing yards in his first season with the team, joining Chester Taylor (2006) and Adrian Peterson (2007). It marked his fourth career season rushing for at least 1,000 yards.
