Wild drop first of homestand
(St. Paul, MN) — Sunday afternoon the Wild dropped the puck on the seven game home stand but fell in the opener 3-1 to the Penguins. Sidney Crosby scored twice and Evgeni Malkin also got on the board as the two long time Pens beat former Penguin netminder Marc Andre Fleury. Fleury made 20 saves for Minnesota as the Wild suffered a second straight loss and have also dropped five of their last seven overall. Ryan Hartman scored the only goal for the home team. The Wild currently hold the first Wild Card spot in the Western Conference with 76 points and a 36-24-4 record. They’re home against the Avalanche on Tuesday night at 7 P-M.
