Position specific helmets coming to the NFL

(Undated) — More helmet options are coming to the N-F-L this season. That’s according to the league, which announced on Tuesday that more than double of position-specific models will be available to players. Safety rankings released by the Players Association showed eight of the top 12 helmets are designed for either quarterbacks or linemen. Riddell’s Axiom 3-D was ranked the highest, which has designs for quarterbacks, linemen and a standard version for all other players. Only three approved helmet models were rolled out last season.
