Results From 7/26-7/27

Results from Saturday and Sunday playoff action.

Sub-State 2 Legion baseball:

Marshall eliminated Mtko Nationals 9 to 7, then New Ulm Gold raced out to a 7 to 0 and defeated Marshall 8 to 6 to win the tournament and advance to the State Legion Tournament this week in St Michael.

SW Sub-State Division 2 baseball:

Luverne needed to win a pair to advance and did just that, defeating Sleepy Eye 3 to 2 and 11 and 1 to advance to the State tourney this week in Ely.

Jr Legion Division One Sub-State G Baseball:

Marshall advanced to the title game against New Ulm, New Ulm defeats Marshall 11 to 1 to win the sub-state and advance to this week’s State tournament in Bloomington.

Jr Legion Division Two SW Sub-State in Luverne:

Sleepy eye defeats Windom Windom 11 to 0 in 5 innings and then defeated Slayton 4 to 0 to advacne to the championship game today against Springfield. First pitch is at 4:30pm today.

Region 2C Playoffs:

Winners bracket- Courtland defeats Gibbon 8 to 1, Springfield was an 11 to 3 winner over Searles, Hanska defeats Leavenworth 12 to 2 in seven and the Lamberton/Milroy game is suspended in the top of 6, tied at 2. The game will resume tonight in Springfield at 8pm.

Elimination games_Granite falls wins 10 to 3 over Essig, Stark defeats Sacred heart 8 to 3, Sleepy Eye edges Marshall 8 to 7 and Wabasso shuts out St James 8 to 0.

Region 7C Playoffs:

Game three best of three:

Belle Plaine edges Hamburg 8 to 7 and Arlington was a 10 to 0, 7 inning win over New Germany. Both teams advance to Region play this week.

The New Ulm Brewer game with MacStrength was cancelled.
